| Fondly Remembered |
It is with sadness that we share the news of the death of former Queen Mary School teacher Linda Hastings, aged 84.
A former Queen Mary School pupil, Linda returned to the school after completing her teacher training and spent 13 happy years teaching Home Economics, including cookery and needlework. She was greatly valued by colleagues and pupils alike for her warmth, kindness and enthusiasm, bringing energy and encouragement to every lesson.
After leaving Queen Mary School, Linda went on to establish the Home Economics Department at Rossall School, where she spent a further 18 years teaching and introducing both GCSE and A Level courses before her retirement in 1998.
Linda remained a loyal supporter of former colleagues and school friendships throughout her life and was well known for her active involvement in her local community. Those who knew her remember a vibrant, caring and positive person with a wonderfully sunny disposition and a genuine interest in others.
Linda will be fondly remembered by the many pupils, colleagues, friends and family whose lives she touched.
Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.
