A wonderful evening at AKS Cabaret 2026
A wonderful evening at AKS Cabaret 2026

In the last week of term, students from across the Senior School and Sixth Form took to the stage in front of a packed audience in OAKS Hall for this year’s Cabaret Concert, delivering a thoroughly enjoyable evening of live music.

The concert brought together a wide range of performances, from soloists to ensembles, highlighting both individual talent and the strength of the school’s music community. The evening offered something for everyone, with pieces ranging from contemporary hits and musical theatre favourites to well-known classics.

The performances opened with an energetic set from the Concert Band, setting the tone with music from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, followed by Elton John’s much-loved ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’

Throughout the first half, the audience enjoyed a variety of performances, including contributions from the Flute Ensemble, String Ensemble, KS3 Pop Choir and Chamber Choir, alongside several confident soloists. Each performance brought its own character, with students clearly enjoying their time on stage.

After the interval, the momentum carried straight into a strong second half. Highlights included performances from the Reed Ensemble and COAST band, as well as a number of impressive soloists. The AKS Swing Band was another standout, with one of our Prep pupils earning a place in the Senior School ensemble, a wonderful achievement.

From powerful vocal performances to lively instrumental pieces, the variety kept the audience engaged throughout. The evening came to a close with a fantastic Beauty and the Beast Medley performed by the Senior Choir.

It was great to see so many students stepping up to perform, with over 20 soloists, choirs, bands and ensembles involved across the evening. Events like this give students the chance to build confidence, develop their performance skills and share their passion for music, while also allowing parents and the wider community to see the depth of talent within the AKS Performing Arts department.

Thank you to all of the students who performed, as well as the staff who supported and organised the evening. And of course, thank you to everyone who came along to support what was a brilliant night of music.
