The annual Headmaster's Cricket Match returned to AKS Lytham on Sunday, once again taking place alongside the popular PTA Summer Fair and bringing together alumni, staff, families and friends of the school for an enjoyable afternoon of cricket and community spirit.
This year's fixture saw the OAKS XI take on the Headmaster's XI in a closely contested 25-over match played in glorious sunshine. The Headmaster's XI posted a competitive total of 116, with notable contributions from Morgan Davies, Chris Cartmell, Kyle Macaulay and Yash Passi.
In response, the OAKS XI produced a composed run chase, led by Allan McKeown and James, before crossing the line with an over to spare to secure victory for the alumni side.
While the cricket provided plenty of entertainment, the real highlight of the afternoon was the opportunity for generations of OAKS alumni to reconnect, share memories and celebrate their continued connection with the school. The event reflected the strong sense of community that continues to unite former students with one another and with AKS.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who played, supported, scored, organised and attended the event. The atmosphere both on and off the field made for another memorable occasion, and there is already plenty of enthusiasm for next year's fixture.
